Bad weather ? Layers ? Then great weather for layer images

On a recent visit to Great Barrier Island, we had a boat trip booked, the weather wasn’t great, so I decided to put on the 70-200 lens and try and go for intimate shots within the landscape.

The rain and mist were creating some great layers, where the landscape appears to step backwards into the gloom. We were on a rocking and pitching boat, so a tripod was out of the question, these images were grabbed hand-held with IBIS on.
