Great Barrier Island from Barrier Air flight

We flew out on Barrier Air, #barrierair it was a 35 minute flight from Auckland, but a whole world away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. It was at the tail end of Tropical Cyclone Hale, so we had unsettled weather. We took a boat trip along the coast of the island. The weather wasn’t looking great, so I setup with my 70-200mm lens to try and get vignettes of the land and seascapes in the hope that I could capture the weather. Using the long lens this also had the added benefit of compressing some of the scenes and really captured the layers we could see looking into the scene, despite the unsettled conditions.
